I’m trying to learn about electricity. I’m trying to understand the physics of what happens to electricity after it’s consumed by a computer’s processor, as a good example. I know some (or most) of the energy is lost as heat due to resistance and whatnot. But to complete the closed circuit, something physical is going back into the power supply and I assume to the ground or something. What is going back out? Is it re-usable power? Why not recycle that? Can you, or what has changed about it?
Teach me what I’m missing here, please.
